Releases - Late '04 - Jamuary '05
YMSB Cabin Fever '05 - New collaboration from Jeff Wood & Johnny Thief to get the year started off on a big foot. Look for Thief & Wood to work together on a more regular basis in '05. Poster is available on tour and on yondermountain.com.
Pure Hemp Promo - Free the Tree print was printed back in December, but we've been too busy to get it up on the site. This poster is also available on the Pure Hemp web site.
Satanic Mechanics - The music of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Unfortunately the show was scheduled for the night Atlanta got plastered in ice, so the show was postponed until Feb 3rd. Since the posters were already done, we'll still have them up in the store soon.

Call for photos.....

Releases 01-03-05

We've got 2 new PGroove posters in the store. Top is the NYE poster by Jeff Wood, and bottom left is the Groove-A-Thon poster by Tripp. The DCS crew couldn't make the Boone show, but the NYE show was phenomenal!!
The bottom middle print is a very special offering from amazing artist Jennifer J. Jelenski. The print was created from a photograph taken from one of Jennifer's incredible, large (3'x4'), detailed paintings titled Mahakala. It took 14 passes on the press to create and is now available.
Last, but certainly not least, is the first time collaboration between artists Dave Huckins & Jeff Wood for the Umphrey's McGee NYE poster. DCS has been fans of Dave's artwork since first discovering it through the Expressobeans web site. Posters were sold by the band at the show.

Recent Poster Editions

___

Well, it's been a busy summer.... and posters are selling out all over the place. The O.A.R. poster above is a second printing of the one below, just in the newer color scheme. Same as the Acoustic Planet poster, the first ed. of 500 sold out halfway through thetour. The second ed. was also printed in an ed. of 500, but with the obvious color change.
Umphey's McGee
sold out of these posters at the show, and we have also sold through all the copies we had here. Don't worry though, I have a ffeeling there will be new UM posters coming soon from Drowning Creek......
A special thanks to Phish Dry Goods for choosing 2 more posters from us for their last tour. The Great Woods poster sold out at the show & the Camden poster, which was not sold at the venue due to weather & no tubes, sold out in less than an hour & a half on dry Goods. Both were 1,000 pc editions. We do not have any available.

>The Acoustic Planet Tour kicked off Aug. 5, and the poster was available on tour. We still have a few available here. Update: The first edition of 300 sold out early in the tour, and to be fair to the folks who missed out on the "gold" edition, a second printing of 250 using copper ink instead of gold was printed. Editions may be distinguished by the ink colors & size of the edition.
> The tour poster in the middle is for our good friends Perpetual Groove's summer tour. If you see this poster on a wall somewhere, that means they are playing near you. Look for the 4 page article in Hittin' the Note this month and definitely go see the band if you have the chance.
> On a sad note, designer/apprentice AJ Mapes has left the building after his recent graduation from UGA. On a happy note, AJ has found an much cooler apprenticeship in the Big Apple with Pentagram. Before he left, he did manage to squeeze in one more fabulous poster for JOMO Entertainment's David Byrne show.

Book News

Look for posters from Drowning Creek Studio in the new Art of Modern Rock book, co-authored by Paul Grushkin and Dennis King. The book is now available, and is the long awaited (and amazing) follow-up to Grushkin's first book, The Art of Rock. No poster collector should be without this beautiful book!

Well, we are in the SWAG book, too. All 3 submissions we made were used. Yay us.

DCS in print!
Check it, yo.... many thanks to Headquest Magazine for the bitchin' spread in this month's magazine! The article was written by Johnny Thief, at the request of HQ. And no, we didn't tell him what to say, but who better to write the article than someone who watched DCS evolve from the first printing on our kitchen table? Johnny is also this month's featured cover artist. Congrats, Johnny!

Richard Biffle, Stanley Mouse, Mike Dubois, Mikio Kennedy, Rob Cohn, Jeff Wood, Scramble Campbell, Kesey and more all at Funky Monkey Art Show in Boulder Co., July 4th-30. Thanks to Ray at The Funky Monkey and Mr. Biffle for putting this together! (July 2003)

Jeff was asked to do Trey Anastasio's Spring Tour Poster.... what a pleasure it was to work with the Phish Drygoods crew! The poster was only available at the shows, and it's our understanding that the 750 pc edition sold out before the tour was over. FYI, we do not have any of these, so begging by email won't help! Jeff also designed one of the shirt designs for the tour. Both the poster and the shirt design are ©Phish Drygoods. (Spring 2003)

Ordering Info

Drowning Creek's store is a secure site, & orders are encrypted using Thawte security. Any personal information, including credit card info, is stored in an encrypted form for a short time before being deleted from our hard drive in the shop. Because we use frames on our site, the secure lock and "https" normally associated with secure sites does not show on the ordering page, but rest assured, your information is indeed encrypted and going through a secure server.

Most posters are shipped rolled. We tried sending posters flat, but a high percentage of those were damaged in the mail. We ship in heavy-duty Yazoo Mills tubes so that your order will arrive as it was sent. Tubes are very carefully packed, and need to be very carefully unpacked. We will not replace posters damaged as a result of being bent or creased when removed from the tube. Please unpack your posters carefully by twisting the contents so that they loosen enough in the tube to be removed without damaging the posters.

Poster measurements are approximate - the actual size will proabably vary from the even measurements listed with each poster. It's always a good idea to wait until you have the print before you order a matte & frame.
