Top left is Yonder Mountain String Band's Old Hands Fall Tour poster designed by Jeff Wood. Top middle & right are the Boo Grass event posters for Yonder's Oct. 31 & Nov. 1 dates in Portland and Seattle designed by Dave Gink for Drowning Creek and YMSB. All 3 posters feature metallic inks - gold on the tour and copper on both Boo Grass. Bottom left is The Accused reunion Seattle date poster, designed by macabre master Jeff Gaither. Bottom right is the showcase poster Jeff W. put together for the TeePee Records CMJ shows - creepy tiki illustration is from artist James Decker.

Dark Star Orchestra - this poster was created for DSO's 6th Anniversary show at the Georgia Theatre on November 11. The show was nothing less than impressive. If you have never seen a DSO show, get tickets next time they come through your town.

Perpetual Groove - Savannah's own home grown groove band just threw one awesome river boat party, and we were very lucky to have the band's permission to commemorate the event with a poster. Not only are the band the nicest folks you'd ever want to hang out and listen to, but they come with a whole family of fantastic fans to boot! Get out and see this band!!!

Badly Drawn Boy - This incredible poster was created by Drowning Creek artist AJ Mapes and all copies at the show sold out before the evening's end. Badly Drawn Boy and his band loved the posters and was supa-nice to AJ by slathering him and the poster with compliments. Even though the copies allotted for the show sold out, Drowning Creek has some copies still here at the studio.

Recently completed posters for O.A.R. & Derek Trucks.... copies of the O.A.R. poster can be found on their merch site. The O.A.R. poster is a limited edition, 5 color screen print, signed and numbered by Jeff Wood.

The Derek Trucks Band Soul Serenade poster was created to honor special guest musician, Vusi Mahlasela, during his touring time with DTB. There were also t-shirts made for the tour from this image.

Pretty Fly for an Earth Guy - This art print was created as 1 of a 3 piece set for Living Tree Papers. Artists EMEK, Gary Houston (VoodooCatbox), and Jeff Wood each produced a print for this eco-series. Contact EMEK or Gary Houston to inquire about the other 2 prints.

Deepest End Poster a Finalist in IMA's
We recently learned that the only poster we entered into the first contest we've ever entered is one of 5 finalists in the Independent Music Awards!! And if that wasn't cool enough, we just picked up or copy of the Deepest End DVD/CD set and opened it up to see Drowning Creek Studio listed under the "Special Thanks" section in the credits. Thanks to the Hardhead team for thinking of us!! Also, this live Mule DVD/CD is an amazing, rock-solid package of video and music. We highly recommend this set to all fans of the Mule.

Sera Jey Tibetan Tour Poster

_

Jeff was asked to create a poster by Rick, owner of Temple Ball Gallery, for their stop on the Sera Jey Tibetan Monks Shiwa tour. This project became a very involved process on our part, with us researching the techniques and the philosophy behind the art of the Tibetan monks. The design is traditional; hand-drawn by Jeff and printed as an 8 color screenprint. Please make a stop at the monks' website to read more about their mission and the reason for this tour. Thanks for the photo, Thomas!!

This poster was created for the Atlanta String Cheese Incident show Sept 26 & 27. SCI Gear still has some of these posters for sale on the SCI website. A very limited artist proof edition will be available sometime in the future in a different color scheme.

Book News

Look for posters from Drowning Creek Studio in the new Art of Modern Rock book, co-authored by Paul Grushkin and Dennis King. The book is now available, and is the long awaited (and amazing) follow-up to Grushkin's first book, The Art of Rock. No poster collector should be without this beautiful book!

Well, we are in the SWAG book, too. All 3 submissions we made were used. Yay us.

DCS in print!
Check it, yo.... many thanks to Headquest Magazine for the bitchin' spread in this month's magazine! The article was written by Johnny Thief, at the request of HQ. And no, we didn't tell him what to say, but who better to write the article than someone who watched DCS evolve from the first printing on our kitchen table? Johnny is also this month's featured cover artist. Congrats, Johnny!

Richard Biffle, Stanley Mouse, Mike Dubois, Mikio Kennedy, Rob Cohn, Jeff Wood, Scramble Campbell, Kesey and more all at Funky Monkey Art Show in Boulder Co., July 4th-30. Thanks to Ray at The Funky Monkey and Mr. Biffle for putting this together! (July 2003)

Jeff was asked to do Trey Anastasio's Spring Tour Poster.... what a pleasure it was to work with the Phish Drygoods crew! The poster was only available at the shows, and it's our understanding that the 750 pc edition sold out before the tour was over. FYI, we do not have any of these, so begging by email won't help! Jeff also designed one of the shirt designs for the tour. Both the poster and the shirt design are ©Phish Drygoods. (Spring 2003)

Ordering Info

Drowning Creek's store is a secure site, & orders are encrypted using Thawte security. Any personal information, including credit card info, is stored in an encrypted form for a short time before being deleted from our hard drive in the shop. Because we use frames on our site, the secure lock and "https" normally associated with secure sites does not show on the ordering page, but rest assured, your information is indeed encrypted and going through a secure server.

Most posters are shipped rolled. We tried sending posters flat, but a high percentage of those were damaged in the mail. We ship in heavy-duty Yazoo Mills tubes so that your order will arrive as it was sent. Tubes are very carefully packed, and need to be very carefully unpacked. We will not replace posters damaged as a result of being bent or creased when removed from the tube. Please unpack your posters carefully by twisting the contents so that they loosen enough in the tube to be removed without damaging the posters.

Poster measurements are approximate - the actual size will proabably vary from the even measurements listed with each poster. It's always a good idea to wait until you have the print before you order a matte & frame.
