Weather Underground Documentary DVD

Weather Underground--Main Page

I stumbled across this DVD about the WU the other day and picked it up to take a look. As a young kid in the late 60's and early 70's I heard a lot about these guys on the news but never really understood what they were about except anti-war protesters. They were much more that that.

I recommend this DVD to any activist. I didn't agree with their methods or ideology at times, but I did see a group of people who dearly loved their country and were willing to fight for it in their own way, misguided as it was. Seeing this DVD lets all of us who want change in this country know that we are not alone, and that many through the years have put themselves on the line for what they believe America should be. I would be lying if I didn't admit that I wish I saw more radical challenges to the powers that be in this country, but in today's "1984" environment I doubt it will ever happen.

The parallels between the then and now politically are chilling. SEE THIS MOVIE. It will make you stop and think long and hard about how our country operates.

One cool thing I noticed is that almost every one of the activists interviewed in the film are now teachers and highly intellectual people who still believe in being activists.

Amazingly, most are not in jail because the authorities that were pursuing them were being as big as thugs as they were....ah, but our government would never overstep it's bounds now would it?
