Resurrecting the Blog
Well. it's been a while since we made any worthwhile posts to the Blog, or even to the regular web site for that matter. I suppose it's time to get serious about updates again, and letting our friends and family know what's going on here.
We're still in the process of a major studio overhaul - we've run out of space, and shutting down doing poster releases for a while was the only way I could see to the restructing. I know most of you know this, but for a very long time, Jeff & I have been working very long hours. We get up walk to the shop & then stay there until late in the evening or even past midnite working on keeping the posters and artwork coming from the studio. The real work gets done at night because we spend all day answering the phone, and stomping out brush fires. We've been looking at ways to change that, as we need to have a life, too.
Like I said in my last big post, our house has been gutted since we returned from Amsterdam. Until I get some help in here, I can't focus my attention on working on the house. Good news, though, we may have someone who can install the doors and the hearth for us, thanks to one of our dearest customers.
Anyway, help is on the way. I have hired a lovely young lady to assist me with the daily grind. Whitney has been here for a week, and I have gotten more done these last few days than I have probably in the last month. Thank Goddess.
Tonight Jeff and I go to pick up Hobbit from the airport. Who is this Hobbit, you ask? Well I think I will save that explanation for another post, but if we are lucky, we will soon have our very own DCS Hobbit.
Thanks to all of you who have written to wish us good tidings.... it means a lot to us. Also, we were able to talk in person to some of the folks who have subscriptions with us, and who have been playing email tag with us down at Langerado, which, btw was a fantastic festival. The weather was just right, the music was excellent, and the people were, as always, magnificent.
We'll be posting more about our vending schedule to come in other posts, but I will leave you with this teaser: Jeff is working on a sedries of paintings, and Whitney & I are working on a series of custom framed prints that will only be available at festivals or on eBay. Whitney & I will begin auctioning a variety of miscellanneous crap and some of our prints very soon. Some of the poster editions we will be doing this year will only be available at festivals or on eBay. Also, Jeff and I are liquidating our personal belongings. We've been pack-ratting for many years, and we have more books than God. CDs, toys, and other dust collectors will find their way to eBay. Also, we will be selling some of our personal poster collections.
One request from me, though.... please don't write me to ask what or when. I am overwhelmed already by "time bandits" - you know, calling to correct overcharges on orders I've placed, trying to get tech support to figure out why our store is offline, answering the phone, etc., etc., etc.
