It's Beautiful Outside....

...too bad we're too busy to go play! So, I'm finally getting around to trying to clean out the storage room and putting stuff up for auction. We need the space, and we're just too darned cluttered right now, so it's either add on, or clean out. We're going the less expensive way since we still haven't gotten the house done yet. You can find our auctions here. Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be adding every thing from stockings to lots of posters. The posters are our annual "Scratch & Dent" sale posters.... some are not damaged, some barely, and some a little more, We've been throwing them in a drawer as we find them, so what we can't sell as mint can be purchased in lots of 10 or more. There's some goodies in these lots, too... a Social D, 311, and more. Anyway, that's about it.... oh, do you like my pretty flower? One day I will get to work in my garden again.....

Take it to the Limit.... One More Time.....

As usual, I am behind schedule.... I spent all of Monday on the phone (again) trying to track down info, money, or some other inane BS. Was going to send emails to the subscribers, but had to drive to Buford REI to get Thule racks for the car while they were still on sale. This morning our bookkeeper came in to get things reconciled and caught up, so I still have not been able to get to the computer I write emails from. Got a few orders to process as well.....

So in the off-chance anyone is actually reading this, I will be spending the rest of the day trying to catch up on all of this.

DCS April 2006 Updatery

Well, the long wait for sanity is getting closer to happening. One HUGE step was completed for the last studio poster release: Rick Ramirez/Temple Ball Gallery has now OFFICIALLY taken over the fulfillment duties for Drowning Creek, and not a moment too soon. Seems Rick is getting plenty of kudos for fast shipping and great packaging, but we knew that would be the case. Thanks so much, Rick!!! We love you!!

But why "not a moment too soon?" Well, we've started the gear up for our Summer Festival tour which will begin with Wakarusa. An exciting new dimension to this year䴜s festival, the Poster Village is an art expo that will feature some of the top names in the rock art community. Four different artists will each be creating a signed and numbered limited edition print commemorating Wakarusa 2006. Come visit Jeff, myself and our crew, Gary Houston, Michael Everett, and Daniel Katra, and check out the prints we'll all be doing for the show. We'll also have a huge booth with most of our work available for purchase. This year we're also breaking out some uncut sheets of our past work, art prints we will only have available at festivals, and some originals.

Next stop will be Bonnaroo where we will be providing a poster presence for our third year in a row. We'll have the 10x10' booth there, and likely will be set up in the same place in the Art Village near the Mushroom Fountain in Centeroo.

So I mentioned in an earlier post that DCS may be getting their very own Hobbit. Well, looks like Hobbit (aka Lee Reiner) will be stepping in, and moving down to Georgia to be the new Office Manager we have needed so badly. Many of our closest clients and friends have known for some time that Jeff and I have been working 12-16 hour days, weekends included, for a very long time now. We seem to be perpetually behind with our personal life, i.e., I have stacks of unfolded laundry, a house that is in need of finishing, and a garden that is overgrown with weeds. Also, we have had a degree of difficulty just gettting art work & other daily work done here due to the telephone, and other unexpected crap that comes up. Hobbit is stepping in to help alleviate some of that. She and Whitney will be taking over the phone and email duties, and will be handling auctions, and other sales.

So what does that leave for me you ask? I will be trying to do the finish work on our house which at present was left in a pretty shitty state by the contractor we hired. I have to tear our some of the shoddy work, and redo it, the floors are bare concrete in need of tile, the sheetrock is the worst finish job ever, so I'm currently in the process of fixing that. Then there is thhe hearth & the doors that need to be installed. Along with that, I will take over the job of Studio Mom, and make sure that my crew is taken care of. I will also be doing some long-put off artwork of my own, and doing the custom framing work with thhe halp of Ms. Whitney.

Anyway, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and this time it's not a train. Thanks to all of you who have been so patient and understanding this past year while I dealt with Katrina, and while Jeff has been sleeping (not very well) in a motor home for the last six months. It's been trying for us to say the least, but as my Granny Raley always said, "That which don't kill ya, will make ya stronger."
