Have a Festive All Hallow's Eve & Samhain!

Hard to believe we're nearing the end of yet another year. Time passes so quickly it seems...
Things are moving forward in the studio, albeit a bit slower than usual. Jeff feels better, but still has half of his face that's not cooperating yet. He is painting, however, and that is a good thing. We're well on our way to converting the studio into more of an art studio instead of commercial production facility. Last week we purged the walls, and cleaned the studio room again, and now I'm working my way through the rest of the building.
We'll be purging the flat files, and storage rooms once again, and selling off a large part of our collection & other misc. toys and stuff. We purposefully have no timetable, so I don't burden myself with unkeepable deadlines.
We leave in a couple of weeks for Amsterdam.... I'll make sure Jeff gets lots of rest and relaxation there. Meanwhile, give your loved ones, and cuddly pets a big hug, and thank the cosmos for the time you have together. Don't get so busy that time passes you by without the chance to dress your animals and children in silly costumes for Halloween. And no, that's not our pug.... ;o)

Notes On New Store Procedure

What happened to the money order option on the ordering form?
We do not take checks or money orders any longer. Most customers who used that option would place orders, and then I would have to send reminder after reminder before finally cancelling the orders. This also creates a problem for my bookkeeper, so I have eliminated the option. My apologies to those of you who actually did send in payment by mail in a timely manner; this is just something we have to do to help reduce the Time Bandits.

Can I reserve a print before the release date/time?
No. Orders must be placed through the web site when posters becaome available. Due to problems in the past with people crying favoritism over, & the confusion in trying to keep tract of "special" requests prior to release, and our need in the studio to streamline the ordering process for our own sanity, I will not take orders unless they come through the store software.

What time are you putting the posters up in the store?
In the past stating a time caused many problems for us. People trying to access the site early either crashed the site, or over-ordered the quantity available because I am unable to put in inventory controls at the same time I make selections live. In the future, I will likely load the new posters, and then send a newsletter.

Look for more questions to be answered here as they come up. I will also add them to the FAQ page on the main site. If it sounds like we're just being mean, please read the DCS October Newsletter posted below.

Thanks!

DCS October Newsletter

Hiya everyone,

I know it's been a while since the last poster release, and newsletter.... since we returned from our Burning Man trip, there has been much to deal with here. The last 2 weeks in particular have been especially trying - the press breaking, work issues beyond our control, sinus infections, the car needing attention, finding out that Jeff's uncle & grandfather each have about 6 months to live, and then the death of our beloved little Lemmy Bear this past Friday night.

Throughout all of this we are still trying our best to get work done, but it seems we're not getting out from under the black cloud just yet. Jeff woke this morning with partial facial paralysis. A trip to the Dr. confirmed our own diagnosis of Bell's Palsy - a condition triggered most often by stress. Wow. Go figure, huh? Jeff is fine, and expected to regain feeling with a little time and medication.... and a little bit of easing up in the stress area.

For years now we have done our very best to meet deadlines and take care of each and every little issue surrounding the studio's business at the expense of our own free time and health. That has to change. We've tried hiring people to take the workload off of us, but have ended up with more work on our plates despite the effort. This studio is run by just Jeff, myself, Mike, and Rick... it's going to stay that way, so we are looking at changing the way we work. We're not a huge corporation, so please be patient with us while we try to figure it all out. Last year at this time Jeff was burnt out, and we swore it wasn't going to be that way this year, but so help me, here we are again.

I will be doing a release on posters this Thursday. Posters included in the release will be on the front page of the web site, and details should be posted for each. I still need to mail the posters for the release to Rick, and I expect them to get there on Monday or Tuesday of next week.... that means that tubes will not possibly start shipping until the end of next week. Please be patient... we take a lot of orders and I will get them input, processed and off to Rick for fulfillment as quickly as I can. If you get an order confirmation via email, your order will be processed.

Since my time really is limited right now, I may not be able to answer all emails. I will answer general questions on the blog so everyone can see them... sort of like how eBay allows sellers to post questions. We REALLY appreciate all the well-wishes and good vibes that have been sent our way already.... I'll try to write back if you send an email, but just know I am swamped trying to take care of Jeff & get work done on the web store.

Don't worry about us.... what does not kill us, will make us stronger.
