Just a Couple of Things...

I'm going to be doing inventory and fixing items in the web store next week, but I fixed a couple of things today..... it occurred to me that the store purchase minimum was $14.99 and that I had put t-shirts in the store with a note they would ship separately from other items for $12.00 plus $5.50 shipping, so I switched the minimum to $12.00 so the shirts can be ordered alone.

Also, the Derek Trucks Band/Susan Tedeschi Fall tour poster was not showing up in the store, so I corrected that.

If any of you know of any wonky weirdness in the web store or have had any problems ordering items, now would be a great time to drop me an email to let me know!

How You Feelin'?

Well, I wish I could say we're feeling better here at the Creek, but we still have a case of the dagnasty Bonnaflu.... but, because we're the troopers we are, the show must go on. Or is that the show poster must go on? THE show will be going on this Saturday in Morrison, CO..... and we're proud to announce a show poster will be there to commemorate. What show? Michael Franti and SPEARHEAD with The John Butler Trio and Mavis Staples. Franti & SPEARHEAD is one of our favorite live shows to catch as are both of the support acts. we're so sorry to have to miss this show, but we highly recommend getting your booty out to Red Rocks Amphitheatre if you are in the area. The show will sell out, so go get your tickets asap!!! Yell Fire for us!! And don't forget to pick up your copy of the limited edition poster!! For more details on why this event is "special" greening landmark for Red Rocks, visit etown.org for the eco-skinny. For ticket information, visit spearheadvibrations.com.

Please Be Patient While We Catch Up

So I went to get a new passport and drivers license Monday, but guess what? The DMV in N GA is only open from Tuesday through Saturday, so yeah, I had to go back and do that all over today. Did I mention I now have a raging case of the Bonnaflu? Seems the dust at Bonnaroo was relentless and pretty much everyone I've spoken to that worked or attended has the same symptoms. Anyway, I'm running a day or so behind what I wanted to be doing on my end of the business due to all of that.

I mentioned in 2 earlier posts that Jeff's apprentice quit right after Bonnaroo. This has put Jeff and myself in a bit of a work crunch on getting the production printing work done and ready to ship to clients. Jeff had already scheduled the work because we thought Mike would be here until after Burning Man, so now we just have to finish it up ourselves. We've also brought the retail shipping back in-house at the same time, so please be patient while we get everything together for the next month or so.

Due to that, we are putting personal art projects and art prints on the back burner until we can clear this work. We don't know exactly when we will be printing the art prints we have mentioned.

I'll announce a release for the newest available posters when I am ready to handle the orders. Please either join our mailing list or check back on this blog or the main site for the announcements as to when this will be scheduled. I will post announcements here regularly as opposed to answering emails asking me the same question over and over.

If you've never checked our FAQ page out, take a moment to scan it to see if we've already answered your question(s) there.

Please be patient with us while the Studio once again undergoes some changes!!!

Gathering of Nations 2008

A lot of you out there in Readerland know that Jeff has done his fair share of Native American arts in his past and present from beading Church fans to designing Powwow art, and even competeing in dance competitions. We can now add to that the 2008 Gathering of Nations Powwow print you see pictured above. This mandala is also a crossover into the visionary art Jeff is creating. The first editions will be printed and for sale some time before December. Thank you, Derrick and Lita, for asking Jeff to do the art again! Hope you 2 had fun at Bonnaroo!

Shipping Changes at Drowning Creek

We have several things to mention in regards to our shipping and fulfillment, so bear with me while I go through as much as I can here. This post will be linked from our FAQ page on the main site for easy back-reference.

As everyone probably knows, the USPS increased rates back in mid May. At first we throught that we would not be affected, but we soon realised that shipping costs being charged for some locations were not covering actual costs. Due to this, we very quietly raised our standard shipping by $.55 per base rate from $8.20 to $8.75. This price includes insurance and the cost of the tube and packaging materials. We'll further review our shipping and possibly adding a dynamic calculator to our store so that the costs are more accurate by distance, but until then we still reserve the right to add to the shipping cost quoted on your input order as necessary. We do not do this very often.

The international shipping calculator is currently not working properly on our web store. We're not sure why, but we'll try to get it fixed asap. If you are an international customer and you input an order and the shipping comes to less than us$5, we hope that you will realize that is likely a mistake. International shipping went up considerably to some locations, often costing nearly as much as the posters themselves. When I input these orders, I calculate postage using the USPS web site's International Postal Calculator using the 30529 zip code to whatever country the order is shipping. You may do the same on your end if you'd like a better idea of the shipping before placing an order. Most single poster tubes weigh approximately 12-15 ounces.

Now for the "big" announcement:

For a little over the last year we've been blessed to have Mr. Rick Ramirez and Temple Ball Gallery on board with Drowning Creek acting as our fulfillment center. We're sad to announce that this will no longer be the case. Due to Rick's path taking him in the direction of other pursuits, we wil, at least for the interim, be bringing the shipping back in house. Jeff and I wish Rick all the best and hope his journey will be blessed with much success. Thank you, Rick, for all the hard work and sweat you poured into shipping all those tubes!!! We love you!

Meanwhile, we expect there to be only minor transitional hurdles, so hopefully the only thing that will be noticably different will be the postmark on your packages!

So Many People Asked Us at Bonnaroo....

.... if we had found a trailer like we had posted in search of earlier, that I thought I would update y'all. Yes, we found an ittybittyteenyweeny 1996 17' Casita to use for our travel purposes. Thankfully, this will eliminate the need for hotel rooms while we travel and is light enough to be pulled by the Jeep. All is well in Commerce......

Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival

We're a little late on this announcement due to our preparations for Bonnaroo, but there are still some dates and possibly some posters left for the following:
Derek & Susan are proud to announce their Soul Stew Revival tour, a special summer outing marking the first time the couple has toured as one band, sharing a familiar cast of musicians including the entire dTb ensemble plus Ron Holloway on saxophone from Susan's touring unit, and adding Derek's younger brother Duane Trucks on second drum kit. Fans can expect a mixture of material from both artists' repertoire along with new songs worked up especially for this tour. The tour will consist of a limited run of dates this summer in the west before the dTb gets cranking again on their own for a Canadian tour in late June, and one additional Soul Stew date in Aspen later in September. On sale ticket information can be found on the dTb Tour page (click headline for the link!). There will not be many Soul Stew dates in '07 so catch them while you can!

Ahhhhhh, Change is in the Air........ Again.....

Well, we're back from Bonnaroo and armpit deep in sorting out jobs, orders and emails. We still have to unpack the trailer and clean everything.... and I do mean EVERYthing! Bonnaroo was it's dustiest ever this year and everything is covered in a layer of dust. Gots to clean the ice chests and all the other items from prints to mesh walls. It might take a while for us to get all caught up, so if you're waiting on an order or an email, please be patient.

Jeff and I did not make the announcement before Bonnaroo, but the studio is back to just Jeff and myself. Mike is moving on to do his young man walkabout and will no longer be printing for us. We wish him well and safe travels!

I have much more to share, and we'll have a review of Bonnaroo soon, but for now I'm gonna get back to the emails and such.

Blather at you soon.....
Judy

It's That Time Again.....

We will be out of the office from June 11 to June 19 for Bonnaroo. Any orders that come in starting Friday, June 8 will have to wait until we return to be processed and shipped. Why? Because there won't be anyone here to do it.

When we return, we'll post information about the next poster release including the PGroove Amberland poster and the Peace Enlightens mini print. We'll also have some fairly significant studio news, updates and announcements and probably a review of our Bonnaroo.

As always, if you're going to Bonnaroo, stop by our booth in Centeroo and say "hello" to us!

Bonnaroo Conscious Alliance Poster

As most of our peeps know, Conscious Alliance is one of the charitable organizations that Jeff & I recommend as one of the best group of folks to donate your hard-earned dollars or food so that they can continue to help those who are less fortunate or in immediate need. The folks at CA are not just some anonymous board of directors somewhere, they are a visible and integral part of the jam community. All members are active in the collection of goods and the distribution process. They are some of the hardest working folks we've ever had the pleasure to call our friends.

Jeff and I are immensely pleased to have worked with CA the last couple of years by creating artwork for some of their food drives at festivals, and are happy to announce that Jeff has created another pice for them to use at their Bonnaroo food drive this year. The goal this year is to collect 10,000 lbs of non-perishable food items with the first 2,000 people donating receiving a copy of the poster you see above. Please consider bringing a donation with you for this effort. It is most appreciated!!

Amberland Posters Release Date

Due to the nearing dates of Bonnaroo, the Amberland poster will not be put on our web site until the end of June. Sorry to make y'all wait, but we do not have time to process orders from a release before we go. If you're going to Bonnaroo, look for our booth in Centeroo and you may be able to pick one up there. We'll also have some other PGroove posters that are not available on our web site.
