If you are already on one of our other mail lists and have been receiving our newsletters, there is no reason for you to write to be added to our Temp List. The Temp list is a one-time convenience notification for people who do not want to be on the regular lists to receive monthly newsletters.

DCS Site Launch Reschedule News 6.30.08

Well, since we announced the new site launch this past week, we've encountered some server issues (crashed twice this past weekend) and our hosting guys are working this week to stabilize our server and run some tests. Due to this, we're going to postpone the site launch until next Monday on 7/7 when we should hopefully have all the server bugs worked out.
Any PBC members or Subscription holders who have not pre-registered on the link I sent out last week, please send me an email so I can send you the link to you get your account info set up.
If you have already gone to the link and entered your account info (i.e., your log on name, password and billing/shipping info, then you are in the system.
When the site goes live, you should be able to use that log in information to log into the web store. If you have problems THEN, let me know. Until then, there is nothing else you need to do.
Have a great 4th of July and have fun if you are going to Rothbury. Be sure to stop by the Conscious Alliance booth to pick up Jeff's Rothbury CA poster pictured above while you are there.
EDIT TO ADD: I apologize for making our decision to relaunch sound like it was based on anyone else's inconvenience (vacation). Our decision was for OUR convenience and unless we have other problems, will relaunch as planned.

Coming Up For Air
Salutations folks.... just popping in for quick note to let y'all know we haven't skipped the country. We're still working on the web site. There's been a few glitches, but we're going to get there soon!
MAIL LIST: If you ARE NOT ON ONE OF OUR REGULAR MAIL LISTS and would like to be on a "Temp" mail list for just the one email announcing that our site is going live, send an email to us with "DCS Temp List" as your subject to the sales@ email address. No content needed; you will be added!
PREFERRED BUYER CLUB: If you want to added now to the PBC, send email to our sales@ address with "DCS PBC ADD" in your subject field. In the email include your billing/shipping address ONLY, HOW you'd like to send payment (Paypal or CC) and we will send you either a Pay Request or a secure link. DO NOT send yor credit card number and expiration date to us in an email!! It's not safe like that!
SUBSCRIPTION: There are still a very small number of subscriptions available. If you are interested in one, send an email with "DCS Subscription" as your subject and your address and how you would like to send payment as in the PBC post. Any current PBC holder that might want to consider getting the Subscription can upgrade to a subscription using the $100 towards the $500 subscription price. Email me for details.
We should be making an announcement about the new web site soon. Jeff has to print a Panic poster and a Derek Trucks Band/Susan Tedeschi poster and then Mindbender goes to press. We are planing to release it on the web site soon thereafter.
Thanks for giving us the time to rework the site!

"How Can I Place an Order?"
I'm posting this here hoping that if you've gone to the splash page of our site, that you followed the link here...
Our web store is not open right now and we do not have a date set for when the new site will officially go live again. We are trying to get several tasks accomplished while the site is down. None of them includes filling orders. We took the site down so we would not have to worry with orders while we tried to complete the web site, clean the shop, do inventory and a few other things we never can find time to do when we are.... wait for it... filling orders!
We really appreciate that we're missed and we hope to have the store back up at least in part very soon. Although we may miss out on taking some orders due to the inconvenience, we gots to do what we gots to do.
If you would like for me to add your email address to the Drowning Creek mail list so you will get the announcement that we are putting the new site up, email me and I will add it for you! Until then, please be patient while we redo the site! It's looking good.....

The 1st art print of the PBC will be the first print released on the new web site. I've posted a picture to our current blog of the print we call Mindbender. !!!!!!I am not asking for anyone to place a reservation yet. Please do not write me asking me to hold one for you!!!!!! When the new store is ready to go online, we'll post the purchasing details to the PBC mailing list with instructions for placing an order.
Mindbender is a 22"x 30" print, 12 colors of what Jeff sees when he closes his eyes on the Playa. Some of you may be old enough to remember the song of the same title:
My Father was a Gibson
My Mother was a Fender,
That's why they cal me
Mindbender
I know most of you recognize the source of the art, but for those who don't, this is a detailed rework of the art from the Derek Trucks Band/Susan Tedeschi Tour print we did in the Fall of '06. The original poster was 5 colors, but Jeff reworked this piece to be 12 screens.
Coming quickly behind this one will be another art print of the art donated to Conscious Alliance for their Gathering of the Nations food drive print. It will, of course, be Native American in nature. I'll post a longer explanation of how that brings Jeff full circle in his career to the web site when we add it there.
Meanwhile, if you haven't signed up for the Preferred Buyers Club, read the details here: http://tinyurl.com/5bc2g2. We'll put up a link for the PBC membership before we release the Mindbender print.
Again, please do not write and ask us to hold prints. We're trying to get the web site built right now and will not be taking any sales until the site goes up at least in part. Thanks!
A New Mule Poster

On Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd, Gov't Mule returns to New Orleans for the 10th straight year for two special shows at the Contemporary Arts Center as part of Superfly during Jazzfest 2008. New Orleans holds a place in the band's heart and has been the site of many extraordinary and historic shows, including The Deepest End. The band has a few tricks up its sleeve to celebrate the fifth anniversary of that show and its first 2 night run in town since Hurricane Katrina.
Jeff was contacted to see if he would consider doing the 5th anniversary poster for Gov't. Mule's New Orleans shows during Jazz Fest. Our schedule was already full, but we talked it over and decided this was something we both wanted to do. The proceeds from the sale of this poster will benefit Preservation Hall and the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund. If you are going to be in town for Jazz Fest, the poster will be available at the shows. If you can swing it, buy a poster and help support the folks working to rebuild New Orleans.
We will have a very limited number of these available when the new site goes up. Print is 22x30"
Labels: benefit, Gov't Mule, Jazz Fest, New Orleans, poster

If You Are Not Getting Our Newsletters
Even though I am using an email service currently to send out newsletters, many of you are writing to tell me you never got them.
I did not send one on this last release.... my apologies for that and I promise it won't happen again.... but I can't fix it so your spam filters don't throw them out. You have to do that on your end.
With the service I use, I can go in and check to see if my email went through... and I can tell if it was opened or not. I'm showing they are going through for the most part, but not being opened. That tells me that either emailbrain.com has been flagged by the spam filters or that your settings are such that they are getting caught on your desktop.
I sent the above notice out to the mailing list yesterday. If you did not receive it, and you think you are on our mailing list, you can do one of 2 things:
1) re-subscribe
2) check and fix your spam settings for both the sales@ & the judy@ drowningcreek.com addresses
I will be switching email services as soon as I have the new web site set up. This may correct the problem so you may want to wait a month and see if you start getting them then.
I will send another email to our list soon on the old service... I will announce it here as well so if you aren't getting them in your email, at least it will be posted here and on our blog as well.
Thanks for being patient while we work these glitches out. It'll get better, I promise.

DCS April Updates
Hello DCS Friends,
We have an important announcement for you....
Jeff and I will be taking the web site and store offline Friday, April 11 to do the server switch. We also have some restructuring to do in the web store, so it may be down for as long as a week, maybe longer. Emails to the drowningcreek.com email addresses will not go through while the site is down. If you have an URGENT issue, you can email me at judygex@mac.com. As soon as we can, we will get our email up anfd running.
PENDING ORDERS: While Jeff wrangles the web site, I will be working to get all orders and other loose ends wrapped up. I have emails that need to be written and packages that need to be shipped. I also have several "issues" involving damaged prints and other time consuming things I need to deal with. I intend to have everything completely caught up by the time the store goes back online. If you already have an email in to me and are waiting for an answer, please be patient while I handle each issue until I can get to you.
If you have not received confirmation on an order that has already been placed, you should get one soon. I still have 30+ orders to process. Please be patient as I am working on several things right now including helping Jeff rebuild the web site.
ORDERING REMINDERS:
We do not take orders via email. If you want it, place an order through the store
We prefer all correspondence be done via email so we have a hard copy for reference
We will not do another retail release until May. We will do an art print release when the web site goes back up. When the store goes back online there should be a new round of Scratch & Dent items and possibly a selection of early uncuts available. Please don't write me to ask which ones or how much; I'm not giving out any information beforehand.
If you are a 2007 subscriber and you have not gotten the email I sent on 3/3/08, please let me know. Several of you have spam filters that are kicking out the emails.
Check http://www.drowningcreek.com/dcsblog.shtml the rest of this month for updates while we are working on the new site. I'll post problems and other notes there as we get through everything.
Thanks,
Judy
