A New Mule Poster

On Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd, Gov't Mule returns to New Orleans for the 10th straight year for two special shows at the Contemporary Arts Center as part of Superfly during Jazzfest 2008. New Orleans holds a place in the band's heart and has been the site of many extraordinary and historic shows, including The Deepest End. The band has a few tricks up its sleeve to celebrate the fifth anniversary of that show and its first 2 night run in town since Hurricane Katrina.
Jeff was contacted to see if he would consider doing the 5th anniversary poster for Gov't. Mule's New Orleans shows during Jazz Fest. Our schedule was already full, but we talked it over and decided this was something we both wanted to do. The proceeds from the sale of this poster will benefit Preservation Hall and the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund. If you are going to be in town for Jazz Fest, the poster will be available at the shows. If you can swing it, buy a poster and help support the folks working to rebuild New Orleans.
We will have a very limited number of these available when the new site goes up. Print is 22x30"

Alrighty, Here It Is.....

Jeff and I still can't quite agree on his name yet, but this Dragon will let us know when he's ready. Most of you will recognize the Dragon as he has adorned the UM GAMH '05 poster prior to this appearance. He was given new embellishments and a lot more detail by Jeff and is being printed on an 18"x24" sheet of black Eclipse paper in 4 colors. This is the second print from Drowning Creek to be printed in water-based inks. The first was the Karl Denson print that went into the Subscriber packages. The print will be listed on our web site this afternoon at 2pm EST and will be listed for $50.00 each. The run will be between 125 and 150 SN pcs, to be determined at the time we sort the prints and pull any misprints from the edition. There will be a 40 pc Subscriber Edition that will go into the Subscription packages. Orders for this release will begin shipping towards the end of next week. Please be patient if you place an order... I'll send a USPS notifiucation when your package is ready to ship!

The 2007 Cannabis Cup Poster

Here 'tis.... this year's official Cannabis Cup poster. Not sure how many colors yet, but I'll update it when I find out. The black border is not a part of the poster; it's Jeff's new display schtick. This will be available in Amsterdam during the week of the 18-24, and then on our site shortly after those dates.

Patience, My Precious!

Wow.... when we got new laptops, I knew there was gonna be a little bit of a learning curve as I also needed to update a metric sh#t ton of my software, but I didn't count on more than a couple of weeks!! Since I was using a G4 tower before, I was able to transfer over a lot of stuff, but still am faced with relearning Dreamweaver right now in the middle of a very busy month. This is why some of my updates and packages have been slower than normal. Jeff is experiencing his own problems with updating everything. So now, instead on my jumping back and forth between 2 machines, I'm jumping between 3. Yes, it's confusing.

Despite all of that, I'll be putting the SCI Beacon poster in the web store Tuesday at 2pm EST. I am changing this so I can add another poster to the store as well. Orders will be filled next week with the current orders in the cue going out first.

We're gearing up for our month off starting in August. Orders taken by August 10 will be shipped before we leave. Any taken after that will ship before we leave IF I HAVE TIME. We have a LOT to do - need new windshield in car, getting the car serviced, getting the parental units and the animals taken care of.... and a myriad of other things, including gathering all of our gear together.

We'll have email access while we are away, so if you need to ask anything, we'll get back to you as soon as we get an internet connection along the way. We will not have email access the week we are in the desert.

Look for the newsletter coming at ya shortly!!

Cheers,
Judy

Wowowowowowowowow!

We just got a copy of Jessica Bruder's "Burning Book: A Visual History of Burning Man" in the mail today. I cannot describe what a beautiful job Jessica has done (and any helper bees who assisted!) with the overwhelming amount of information and pictures that make up this tome, but it's a Burner must-have. Or at least I think so. There is so much to look at and read inside.... including a double page spread of the poster Jeff & I took to the Playa to give away last year! Check out the book's web site here and pre-order your copy: www.burningbook.net/index.html

Thanks for making our day, Jessica!! See you in the desert!

The show will sell out, so go get your tickets asap!!! Yell Fire for us!! And don't forget to pick up your copy of the limited edition poster!! For more details on why this event is "special" greening landmark for Red Rocks, visit etown.org for the eco-skinny. For ticket information, visit spearheadvibrations.com.

Bonnaroo Conscious Alliance Poster

As most of our peeps know, Conscious Alliance is one of the charitable organizations that Jeff & I recommend as one of the best group of folks to donate your hard-earned dollars or food so that they can continue to help those who are less fortunate or in immediate need. The folks at CA are not just some anonymous board of directors somewhere, they are a visible and integral part of the jam community. All members are active in the collection of goods and the distribution process. They are some of the hardest working folks we've ever had the pleasure to call our friends.

Jeff and I are immensely pleased to have worked with CA the last couple of years by creating artwork for some of their food drives at festivals, and are happy to announce that Jeff has created another pice for them to use at their Bonnaroo food drive this year. The goal this year is to collect 10,000 lbs of non-perishable food items with the first 2,000 people donating receiving a copy of the poster you see above. Please consider bringing a donation with you for this effort. It is most appreciated!!

Channeling Griffin... Again....

Ayup, it has eyeballs on it, folks. If ya don't get "why," ya need to do a little reading up on Rick Griffin....
From Jeff's Tribe page:
About once a year I do a piece in homage to one of my favorite artists, Rick Griffin. Rick's amazing work has inspired me through the years and I love drawing Griffin styled poster art. Jam in The Dam Festival in Amsterdam once again gets the royal Griffin treatment. I named the piece "Aoxomoxoa Memories" since it was inspired by the artwork Rick did for the GD album of the same name. The reason for a "Dead" theme of the artwork this year is Dark Star Orchestra is on the bill and will be celebrating the last shows the Dead did in Amsterdam. I thought the artwork was fitting for such an event and it was a blast to do. Cheers to you Rick!

Jam Cruise 5 Vintage Collage Print

Here's a look at the "other" Jam Cruise poster.... this one was designed earlier in the year as a single print. It almost didn't make it to print after the shell set was decided on, but since it was already designed, we went ahead with a small run. I'll post the numbers for the edition when the print is added to the regular DCS site.

Perpetual Groove Winter Tour Poster

Well, the band and fans loved the Fall Tour Poster so much that requests were made to use the same design in a different color scheme for the Winter Tour. Everyone really liked the idea of having a "set" so Jeff changed the colors to a cool palette. Check the PGroove web site for tour dates and locations, and stop by the T.I.P. Forum for the latest chatter with the PGroove family! There's a new album coming very soon, too! The poster can be purchased at PGroove shows, or you'll be able to order it through the DCS web site very soon.
