Johnny Thief

Being born in Rockaway Beach, New York in 1968 goes a long way in explaining a lot about Johnny. The violent, churning, chaotic, grafitti-strewn, gang-ridden, melting pot was a hell of a place to enter the world and try to make sense of things. But he love it, and, no matter where he rests his head, he will always call it home.

Throughout his four-decade walk on this planet, he's gotten his hands dirty in all kinds of alternative lifestyles, and, at any given time, any number of labels could have been slapped on him: pseudo-intellectual, dreamer, actor, juvenile delinquent, burn-out, writer, poet, singer, punk, drunk, pot-head, gifted and talented, Jesus™ freak, Good Samaritan, asshole, hacker, Mac Daddy™, biker, guinea, rudeboy, loser, ... But no matter where he was, there was always art.

20+ years of professional experience in practically every medium conceivable. Sometimes, he looks back at the bulk of the work and thinks it's been such a long road and sometimes he thinks he's barely started. he feels he still has so much to do.

Presently, Johnny is co-owner of Seppuku Tattoo with partner Matt Lukesh. Johnny and Matt both have been featured on the covers of tattoo industry magazines such as International Tattoo Art and Skin & Ink. Both are modern masters.

Johnny is an accomplished painter and this compliments his skills as a tattoo artist working on the most precious medium, human skin.
